A last post to the open forum on this topic - music lovers please do join the new "Music Lovers in Standards" community on SES Connects.  I played my first gig in 8 years on Friday night at Wild Hare Cidery in Leesburg, VA.  A great night, well supported, and fun to be paid for a different skill-set.  We're a diverse set of individuals that make up the SES family, let's use SES Connects to indeed - well - "connect"!

I know there are many of you out there in the SES community with great diverse music tastes.  We can have discussions on audio formats, publishing, aggregation standards, or just get to know each other better.  Make sure you join the community today!

    All the best.

Jamming is my absolute fav thing to do in music. Pic below is me playing Sax last weekend at an open jam in Corofin, County Clare, Ireland.

    Standards note
Having come to Sax from stringed instruments I found the standard way of naming musical notes on the Sax to be very odd indeed:-) On an Alto Sax, for example, to play the note that a guitar/piano/violin player would call "G" you need to play what a Sax player calls "E". A good explanation of this can be found here.

Standards can be weird some times but I guess I don't need to elaborate on that in this forum of standards professionals:-)
